I hate losing to the #1 team in the country at the time and being ranked behind a team that lost to Ole Miss at home.

We were good enough to beat some good teams last year, we just couldn't finish, whatever you wanna blame that on, can't say you're not a good team when you beat both Auburn (who beat UF) and WVU in the same season...

I'd still say they were a good team last year, and are as good a team (if not better) this year

Can't say that regarding this year, yet, at least...

Let's look at teams, though this doesn't counter your argument of teams with losses being ranked higher, but I'm just sayin'

Texas Tech hasn't beaten anyone
BYU - Nothing really, either
USC loses to an unranked school
UF loses to an unranked school

Then you say, well, OSU lost to a #1 and fell farther than the team that lost to an unranked, and then a team like USF who hasn't lost to an unranked team *knock on wood*

I mean, this is just another, "College rankings usually suck, yada yada yada" but still

Id be the first to agree that college rankings suck and terrible and even at least slightly retarded and just dont work the way they should, I just dont think you have anything to complain about when it comes to where USF is ranked right now. You can complain, I dont have a problem with it, I just disagree with your opinion here.

Well, yeah, I can see that, and I'm not really complaining about where, per se, I just abhor the whole reputation factor that gets involved... USF doesn't have a "reputation" and therefore is a lower ranked team than a BYU, or a Texas Tech... over the course of a season, the teams that win wind up where they deserve (for the most part, I guess)

I dont particularly agree that teams wind up where they belong because a lot of the time teams can only end up in a certain area based on where they start. For example, FSU isnt very good, they might not even be good, I think theyre at least better than bad though, any just an example, they're 3-1, if they started at #4 they're probably around #11 right now. But they started unranked and they are unranked now. They belong where they are, but other teams may not and dont have a shot because every SEC began the season ranked and its the same with all the regulars. I didnt articulate this very well, I'll blame a migraine. I actually think while USF doesnt have a reputation, they're ranked pretty damn highly and a lot of it I think is because they're in a conference that appears to maybe have 0 other good teams so they're in a spot to be the best and not lose.
