wow, had no clue James Blake was in the top 10

edit: that's just US Open 10, but still... I assumed he was in the 20s

Not if you have followed tennis the past three years.

I know what you mean though, relative to their once career projections, probable talent, etc.

I think by now, it all comes down to work ethic, and while they both obviously work hard, I'd say Roddick's the more talented of the two, but Blake just flat out works harder...

Blake also isn't a mental midget or a prima donna.

I've rooted for Roddick every match he has played, but it is the truth.

I agree totally, Blake's probably one of the smartest players in the world, easily top 5 in my opinion

I haven't really watched much up until this point but I'm going to start soon.

I have trouble getting up and down with Landon and other stuff during the day and that irks me to no end during sporting events.

/iknownoonecares

Ivanovic being upset isn't a surprise to me and probably most people considering the thumb injury.

I haven't been able to watch much what with class, so I can sort of feel for ya JJ, not the same, but close...

As for Ana, thumb injury and the nature of the women's tour, shouldn't be overly surprising, BUT, IIRC, this is the greatest women's upset in US Open history

I think my girl Mauresmo may have a real shot of coming out of that top half of that section 1 and in to the quarters.

Not really, I mean, cool if they win, but rooting for the Williamses is stale to me anymore... I guess Venus is 3rd on my list going into tomorrow

But normally I root (in this order):

Kirilenko - I like her game, she doesn't have that intangible factor though
Vaidisova - Same
Ivanovic - Probably the only "hard hitter" on the WTA I like watching
Pennetta - She actually plays better than I think most people realize
Dementieva - Most similar game to mine... e.g. crappy, inconsistent serving
