Guess I'm just not a golfer but this kinda made me laugh.

I did not know you could have season ending surgery in golf, unless maybe it's your hand.

Apologies to the golf fans.

Your knee pivots on a backswing and is a big part of your downswing.

You need a ton of flexibility in your knees.

You also have to walk 72 holes in 4 days and I'd imagine that would be quite difficult with his knee the way it is.

Interesting that he is having this major of a complication. Seems sort of obvious to me that he rushed himself back.

Lot of unhappy TV executives today.

The networks get killed when he is not teeing it up.

I'll still enjoy watching the British Open though. The PGA is my least favorite major of the year by far.

I'd rate my major faves like:

Masters (by far)
US Open
British Open
PGA (by far)

Woods said on his Web site that he will have surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament. He also wrote that he needs time to rehabilitate a double stress fracture of his left tibia, which he said was discovered just before the Memorial Tournament in late May.

And he revealed that he originally ruptured the ACL in 2007 while running at his home in Orlando after the British Open. He said he decided not to have surgery at that point, and he went on to win five of the next six events he entered.

Good god.
