Chris Volstad Nabs Member Voted Marlin Rookie of the Year Award Easily
  The Teal and Black community had little trouble picking their 2008 Rookie of the Year With only one other legitimate candidate for the honor, Chris Volstad's extremely strong first season earned him the Marlins Rookie of the Year award as voted upon by the members of the Teal and Black community. Volstad topped catcher John Baker 22-5 in the voting backed by his impressive pitching performance. The right hander accumulated 6 wins during his 84 1/3 innings of work along with a tremendous 2.88 ERA. His ERA+ came out to 145 on the season and he fanned 52 batters against 36 walks. Volstad appears to be in the mix for pitcher of the year honors which will be named later in the week.
