Marlins Move AAA Club From Albuquerque to New Orleans

On Monday, the New Orleans and Florida Marlins will announce they've agreed on a two-year player development contract, Zephyrs General Manager Mike Schline said today.

The Zephyrs were looking for a major league team to replace the New York Mets as the parent club after the Mets announced they would be affiliated with Buffalo this week.

Zephyrs will be AAA team of Florida Marlins - Sports - Times-Picayune - NOLA.com

It's going to be interesting to see how this changes organizational philosophy, especially with guys like Gaby, Coghlan, Andrew Miller and possibly Cameron Maybin.

I like the fact that we now have a place to put our log jam of pitchers that we don't want to keep in AA. For example, we could now send guys like Thompson and Sinkbeil to New Orleans with the guys like West and the rest of the Jupiter bunch moving up to Jacksonville.
