Marlins Recall Waechter, Pinto to the DL

Reliever Doug Waechter was activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Florida Marlins before Tuesday night's game with the Atlanta Braves.

Waechter was 3-2 with a 3.51 ERA in 39 games before being sidelined by right shoulder inflammation on Aug. 7.

Florida placed left-hander Renyel Pinto on the 15-day DL with a strained hamstring. Pinto appeared in 65 games, going 2-5 with a 4.50 ERA.

Fredi ran him into the ground this year. Hopefully, they just shut him down for the season.

I do not think they are going to use Miller in a bullpen role, especially not as a lefty specialist. I thought that Miller would take Volstad's spot when he gets shut down here soon, so as to limit his IPs to the target range for the year. Tank will probably get the call for that role when rosters expand.

I guess it all depends on how "out of it" we are next week. I'm also not sure how close Miller is to returning.
