Default Hermida and Rabelo to Begin Minor League Rehab Thursday

While the Marlins are off on Thursday, a couple of projected regulars will be taking part in Minor League action.

The Class A Jupiter Hammerheads open their season on Thursday, and right fielder Jeremy Hermida and catcher Mike Rabelo both are scheduled to be in the starting lineup.

Both players are on the Major League disabled list, retroactive to March 21, meaning they are eligible to be activated to the big league squad on Saturday.

Hermida, who is recovering from a strained left hamstring, may end up being activated on Saturday. Rabelo, meanwhile, projects to be a little bit longer.

Rabelo is hampered by a left knee sprain, and he is slated to catch about five innings on Thursday.

Hermida has no restrictions on how many innings he can play. He is slated to play on Thursday and Friday for Jupiter.

The timetable for Rabelo could be closer to mid-month as he gets back into game shape.

Paul Hoover, on the active roster because Rabelo is on the disabled list, made his first start for the Marlins on Wednesday night against the Mets.

Hoover was giving Matt Treanor, who caught 10 innings on Tuesday, a breather.

Hopefully for both the Marlins and my fantasy team Hermida returns on Saturday.

Hopefully Hermida can stay healthy this time around.
