He'll sign.

Thieme, 6-3 and 205 pounds, was the fifth SSU player chosen by the Florida Marlins. He was taken in the 23rd round with the 688th pick.

Thieme, a senior said he'll definitely sign and is looking forward to starting his pro career. Thieme batted .317 with 19 homers and 64 RBIs for the Seawolves. He said the biggest adjustment in store is probably going from a metal to wood bat.

Thieme knows SSU alum Daniel Barone, drafted by the Marlins in 2004 and who pitched with the Marlins last year. He's currently with Florida's Triple-A club.
